Marketing Administrator
Overview
The Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra, one of the UK’s leading orchestras, seeks a highly-motivated Marketing Administrator, to play a key role in devising and implementing marketing campaigns. Our activities include:
- a comprehensive season of concerts & educational programmes in Oxford
- an annual piano festival
- concerts in London and other parts of the country
- tours overseas
We are looking for a highly organised, conscientious and friendly person, who is willing to work both on their own initiative and as part of a small team. This is a dynamic role in a fast developing organisation.
The chosen candidate will assist and work under instruction from the Chief Operating Officer and other Directors.
This is a permanent, full-time role, based in our London office. The holiday entitlement is 20 days plus 8 bank holidays. Occasional travel to Oxford will be required. Some occasional evening and weekend work will be necessary for concerts but an in-lieu scheme is in place to cover out-of-hours working.
Job profile
Principal duties:
- Devising marketing campaigns for self-promoted concerts and tours
- Production coordination of season brochures and other publications
- Copywriting: concert descriptions, e-bulletins, social media content
- Proofing brochures, flyers, adverts, concert programmes, and other print and online content; ensure our branding guidelines are maintained
- Managing the OPO social media accounts and creating compelling content to maintain existing and attract new followers
- Creating website content, including image editing
- Manage the orchestra’s and the piano festival’s websites (WordPress) to ensure both are kept up-to-date
- Creating e-bulletins
- Co-ordinating PR opportunities with external PR agency
- Inputting concert listings online
- Use OPO’s CRM systems (Spektrix) to segment audiences, in order to convert past and infrequent attendees into regular audience members
- Supporting the Ticketing Officer with Box Office duties such as ticket bookings & customer queries
- Other activities as they arise or assigned by management
Applicant profile
1. Essential abilities/qualifications:
- Knowledge and passion for classical music, particularly orchestral music
- Strong copywriting and proofreading skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Experience in updating and managing websites
- Meticulous accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong IT skills and ability to learn new software
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks
- Minimum 2 years marketing experience in the arts
- Strong communication skills
- Applicant must have the right to work in the UK
2. Preferred abilities/qualifications:
- Experience of working with databases
- A degree in music
- Experience in creating video content
