Chaminade Automne, Autre Fois, Sylvains
Liszt Sonata in B Minor, S. 178
Schumann Carnaval, Op. 9
Sherman/Hough Mary Poppins Suite

Stephen Hough piano

Expect to hear the piano ‘sparkle’ with ‘moments of tender poetry’ in renowned pianist, composer and writer Sir Stephen Hough’s performance of three pieces by Cécile Chaminade, a composer for whom he describes himself as having a lifelong love (The Guardian). Hough crafts a compelling, varied programme, pairing Chaminade’s works with that of two giants of the romantic era, Schumann and Liszt, and closing with his own arrangement of songs from the well-loved musical, Mary Poppins.
