Distinguished Friend of Oxford Award

We are delighted to share that our very own Marios & Anthi Papadopoulos were among the four longstanding supporters of the University of Oxford recognised this year with Distinguished Friend of Oxford Awards, presented by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Irene Tracey, CBE, FRS, FMedSci.

We also warmly congratulate fellow recipients: Lord Powell of Bayswater KCMG and Sir Paul Ruddock FSA.

For 23 years, the Oxford Philharmonic was the official Orchestra in Residence at the University of Oxford, offering students training and a platform for their work. The residency concluded just as we adopted an increasing national and international role for our Academy programmes. We continue to be proud of our transformational impact on the arts ecosystem of Oxfordshire and the wider Thames Valley.

The award is for individuals who have given their time, expertise and influence on projects that have provided enduring benefit to the Collegiate University. Presented during an evening in the Divinity School, the event included Marios performing a wonderful rendition of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata.
