String Quartet Masterclass with members of the Carducci Quartet
Join members of the Carducci Quartet, violinist Matthew Denton and cellist Emma Denton for a String Quartet Masterclass.
We welcome applications from advanced students (of at least Diploma standard). This masterclass is open to string quartets where all members are part-time or full-time students at a higher education institution. Up to three quartets will be selected. Travel bursaries are available upon request.
How to Apply
To apply, please send Lydia Bennett, opoeducation@oxfordphil.com, the following information:
- name, education institution, course, year of study for each player
- your proposed repertoire for the class
- CV with your quartet’s performance experience
- a link to video of a recent quartet performance
The deadline to apply is the 18 February 2026.
Described by The Strad as presenting ‘a masterclass in unanimity of musical purpose, in which severity could melt seamlessly into charm, and drama into geniality’, the award-winning Carducci Quartet is internationally acclaimed as one of the most accomplished and versatile ensembles of today. The ensemble is celebrated for its mastery of the core repertoire, alongside a commitment to presenting new works each season and curating genre-crossing programmes. Members of the Carducci Quartet also perform regularly with the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra.
