Choral Conducting Masterclass with Sir John Rutter
We welcome legendary Sir John Rutter for a choral conducting masterclass, featuring Queen’s College Choir.
We welcome applications from advanced students (of at least Diploma standard). This masterclass is open to applications from part-time or full-time students at a higher education institution. Up to three students will be selected. Travel bursaries are available upon request.
How to Apply
To apply, please send Lydia Bennett, opoeducation@oxfordphil.com, the following information:
- Name, education institution, course, year of study
- A video recording of yourself conducting within the last year. The camera angle should show you from the front (rather than the audience view). Reviewers will watch up to seven minutes of video footage, so you can either provide a curated video with a number of excerpts, or you can provide a link to a longer work. Be advised that the reviewers will not watch the full video if it is longer than 7 minutes. Videos must be submitted as links to a Dropbox file or YouTube video.
- CV with relevant conducting experience and training. CVs should be A4 size and a maximum of 2 pages.
- Statement of application. In 250 – 350 words, articulate why you would like to participate in the masterclass and what you hope to learn.
The deadline to apply is the 6 April 2026.
