Overview
The Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra is looking for enthusiastic Front of House staff members to join our friendly and committed team on concert days, assisting with the smooth running of events across Oxford on a casual basis as and when required, depending on concert schedules.
Please note that most performances are during evenings so you must be able to work at these times. You must be over 18 and have existing work authorisation for the UK.

Job Profile
Duties and Responsibilities
- Proactively sell programmes when concert goers are arriving
- Help to set up and ensure the smooth running of the Interval Drinks Reception
- Work collaboratively with the FOH team to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and correctly
- Take responsibility for equipment provided to you, such as the payment devices
- Assist customers with information about the venue and the event, and usher them to the correct entry and exit locations
- Adopt a friendly and confident attitude, ensuring all customers feel welcomed
- Be willing and able to answer any questions or queries regarding customers’ visit or the evening’s concert
- Identify potential improvements that would help to improve customer experience
- Guide and assist latecomers to their seats
- Assist the OPO Concert Team with moving stage equipment and materials
- Assist with other relevant activities where support is required
Person Specification
- Confidence in a customer service environment
- Disciplined timekeeping skills
- Proactive approach to work and assisting in a team environment
- Fluency in the English language and excellent communication skills with a confident ability to engage with the public
Salary
£14 per hour payable monthly as a gross figure based on agreed number of hours worked. As this is a casualised engagement, you would be responsible for all tax and national insurance payments
