In between, Ben Glassberg leads the orchestra in Camille Pépin’s evocative meditation on the rebirth of the planet and what promises to be an unmissable performance of England’s greatest cello concerto from one of England’s greatest cellists, as Guy Johnston channels all the conflicting passions and strained lyricism of Elgar’s iconic work.
