Rautio Piano Trio

‘You could hardly do better than the ever-imaginative Rautio Piano Trio’, wrote Gramophone in October 2026. The Trio has made a special study of the performance practice of the Classical period, and has received wide acclaim for their recordings and performances on the instruments of the time. As part of their project to record all Beethoven’s piano trios, they bring together two of Beethoven’s early trios with music by Haydn and the recently revived composer Marianne Martines, bringing vividly to life the performance of chamber music in the salons of Vienna which has been discussed during the day.
