Performance Opportunities
The OPO offers a variety of performance opportunities for students and young people.
This includes Side-by-Side, Masterclasses & Workshops and our Young Artists’ Platform.
Over the last 23 years, we have offered numerous tuition and performance opportunities to hundreds of students, including one-to-one lessons from senior Orchestra members, performance opportunities as part of the Orchestra, full symphonic premieres for emerging composers, workshops and masterclasses from our own outstanding players and visiting international artists.
Our performance opportunities have now been extended to include students nationally.

A chance for aspiring orchestral musicians to sit Side-by-Side with a professional player in the opening work of up to three of our Oxford season concerts.
Workshops & Masterclasses
We are proud to host some of the world’s most eminent soloists in our concert season. In addition to our own fantastic players, many of these world-class guest soloists conduct masterclasses in Oxford, providing young musicians with the rare opportunity to learn from those at the top of their game.
Young Artists’ Platform
Your chance to perform as soloist or chamber ensemble in front of our Sheldonian Theatre audience during one of our pre-concert recital performances as part of the Orchestra’s main season.
