Statement about Covid-19

Dear Customers,

Following the Government’s advice and the subsequent closure of venues across the country, it is with great regret that our events until Sunday 9 August have had to be cancelled.

We sincerely apologise for the disappointment this will cause our audiences but hope you will understand that the decision to cancel has the primary aim of ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of our artists, musicians, staff, audiences and the community at large.

Like many financially independent arts charities who receive no government subsidy, this is a huge and unprecedented period of uncertainty for the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra and these cancellations will result in a significant financial loss with many challenging months ahead. This will have a devastating impact on our freelance musicians and staff as well as affecting the work we do in the community in schools, hospitals and with Oxford University students. Your support is more crucial than ever as we look ahead to how we can sustain the organisation for the foreseeable and long-term future.

We are offering ticket holders the opportunity to donate the value of their tickets, in full or in part, to help support the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra. If you are happy to do this then please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and we will gratefully process your ticket(s) as a donation. If you would like to receive a full or part refund or a credit voucher (valid for 1 year), simply email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Our thoughts and sympathy are with all those impacted by coronavirus. Thank you for your understanding and support, and please stay healthy.

Best wishes,

Marios Papadopoulos
