About the event

SCHUBERT Symphony No. 5 in B flat major, D. 485
DVOŘÁK Violin Concerto in A minor, Op. 53

Anne-Sophie Mutter - violin
Marios Papadopoulos – conductor

‘In the galaxy of international violin stars Anne-Sophie Mutter represents a rare comet. The opportunity to see her play locally is something like a celestial event’ exclaims the LA Times. And so we are thrilled that she is joining Oxford Philomusica to perform Dvořák’s Violin Concerto – a wonderfully spirited but rarely heard work that often falls into the shadow of its companion for cello. Schubert’s gloriously radiant Mozartian symphony will open the concert, setting the tone for what promises to be a dazzling evening.
