Saleem Ashkar's interpretations of Beethoven's masterworks for the piano have been described as smoulderingly romantic, virtuosic yet elegant, and his complete Beethoven sonata cycle project has left audiences around the world in awe. Ashkar will perform four sonatas for the Oxford Piano Festival including the 'Appassionata' from Beethoven's set of 32 sonatas, a body of work of such importance as to have been famously compared to Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier.
