Heritage Society

Leaving a legacy honours your lifetime commitment to the OPO and ensures that audiences of the future will enjoy the musical experience that was so important to you.  You can provide the vital general support that keeps the Orchestra playing or you may wish to donate to specific areas of our work that mean the most to you.  Whatever you choose, as a member of the Heritage Society, your generosity endures.

Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent. Victor Hugo

'Having 40 years of married life together, in which the sharing of music was always integral, death leaves a great soundless void when one's partner dies. We were both always committed to supporting every opportunity to encourage our love of music in the young - whether as instrumentalists, or as engaged and informed listeners - both to the so-called classical music canon of the past, and to that of the present.

Learning of the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra Trust's commitment to the same, after the death of my beloved husband, and needing to re-write my will, I decided that one of the three benefactors, all in his name, would be the OPO Trust, with the stipulation that it contribute to support this area of their work, which ranges from that with the very young through to that with the undergraduates of the University of Oxford, of which they are the Orchestra in Residence.'

Rhythm and harmony find their way into the inward places of the soul. Plato
