The Soloists of Oxford Philomusica
David Malusa - piano
The Orchestra’s principal players present an afternoon of Russian chamber music: Shostakovich’s only quintet – an emotionally charged masterpiece composed during the Second World War – and Borodin’s enchantingly beautiful second String Quartet, written by the composer as a love-letter to his wife. The Soloists are joined by pianist David Malusa who will also perform Scriabin’s curiously mystical Sonata No. 4.
