Violinist Maxim Vengerov joins Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra for a programme of Sibelius's rarely heard Violin Concerto, and Tchaikovsky's Pathetique Symphony, which the composer described as the best thing I ever composed or shall compose. It is a creation evoking profound intimacy and deep introspection.
