Before it, Marios Papadopoulos conducts a swashbuckling overture from the other end of Strauss's career, Mahler's deeply moving protestation of love and the UK premiere of Giorgos Koumendakis's evocation of the Cretan instruments inspired by Irvin Yalom's idea of 'amor fati' - the love of fate.

The concert is scheduled to end at 9:10 pm.
