Julius Drake piano

Twelve poems from Scottish poet William Soutar form the basis of Britten's haunting song cycle, which are intertwined with the fourteen lieder of Schubert's captivating Schwanengesang in this contrasting programme. In the intimate setting of Merton College Chapel, Julius Drake, one of the finest instrumentalists in his field, performs with the bright young tenor Nicky Spence, hailed by the Daily Telegraph as a voice of real distinction.

Concert ends at approx. 9.30pm including a 15 minute interval.

Tickets: £25 £10 (unsighted)
