Did you know that, like most other UK orchestras, a sell-out concert will make a substantial loss? The Upper Gallery accounts for 44% of the theatre's full capacity and, when totally full, will only yield enough box office revenue to cover the fees of 10 orchestral musicians.
Oxford Philomusica is one of the leading orchestras in the UK and Orchestra in Residence at the University of Oxford. Without our supporters, we could never sustain the world-class music making that we promote in Oxford, across the Thames Valley and beyond.
The Orchestra receives no regular funding from the Arts Council and relies entirely on its own fundraising efforts to maintain not only its ambitious concert programme featuring outstanding musicians but also its pioneering education projects and community work, all whilst striving to remain affordable and accessible to all.
A 3-year fundraising appeal, launched by our Vice President in 2012 seeks to provide a financial base for our future development. Find out more about the campaign here, or by contacting Simon Payne, Development Manager - simon@oxfordphil.com or 07775 904626
