Soloists of Oxford Philomusica

The spotlight throughout most of our concerts in 2010 is very much on Oxford Philomusica's 'glorious individual players' (The Times). We warmly welcome you to 'Meet the Soloists' in a series of concerts featuring the outstanding individual talent within the ranks of the Orchestra. The New Year's Concert features four of our distinguished principal wind players in Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante. Soloistic opportunities abound in the pair of Baroque Masterworks programmes, the first featuring strings, the second woodwinds, and in March we perform the teenage Mendelssohn's scintillating String Octet. In May the Orchestra's newly-appointed leader, Tamás András, directs and plays Vivaldi's familiar Four Seasons, paired with Piazzolla's Four Seasons of Buenos Aires.
