Oxford Philomusica has been in the forefront of Oxford music since 1999. As the only professional symphony orchestra in the city, it provides a comprehensive season of concerts for the enjoyment of thousands of people in the area. A concert by Oxford Philomusica at its home in the Sheldonian Theatre is a unique musical experience. The intimacy and the high quality of the music-making has become a hallmark of an Oxford Philomusica concert and an event eagerly anticipated by many.

Without our Friends and supporters we could never hope to sustain the worldclass music making that we promote in Oxford and across the Thames valley.

Your contribution will help us:

• Cover the cost of concerts. Did you know that concerts in the Sheldonian incur an average loss of around £12,000 each?

• Offer training and performance opportunities to many young talented musicians at Oxford University and across the Oxfordshire region

• Enable people who have a disability, children who have special needs and other disadvantaged groups to benefit from live music through our community outreach programme

• Maintain the high level tuition and worldclass performances at our International Piano Festival and Summer Academy

• Extend our concert programme nationally and internationally

• Make new recordings in the OP ‘Oxford’ series

Being a Friend puts you in touch with a like-minded group of people, who all feel inspired by the work of the orchestra. Our members’ vision and support is what keeps our orchestra alive. Join us now, and help us develop our ambitions in Oxford and beyond.

How you can help

Become a Friend of Oxford Philomusica, starting from £30 (£45 per couple), with Gold Friends giving £250 (£400 per couple). Benefits include significant savings on tickets, special Friends events, and for higher levels of membership, inclusion on our role of honour in our programme and other publicity.

Make a donation: either a one-off gift or a regular contribution by Direct Debit. You can sponsor a Chair from £750 per annum, and will get to meet the musician you are supporting and gain a unique insight into the orchestra.

Sponsor a concert. What better way to celebrate a special anniversary than to plan a concert with us and bring all your friends to enjoy an unforgettable evening of great music, followed by a reception in one of Oxford’s unique historic venues. Concert sponsorship starts at £5,000.

All supporters receive our newsletter three times a year and invitations to special events.
